I have an older one which freezes. Try unplugging it from your wall electric outlet and then replug.  Usually works

Reset the remote and also make sure the battery contacts are clean.

You may need to synchronize the stick with the remote again. There is a button on the stick you can press and hold and get the remote to resync.
