• In order to get local channels you need to sign up for a serive that has them, like Directv Stream of YouTube TV. You can download those apps on Roku stick.

• Hello pigpeg, For local channels you can either purchase an antenna, see if your local channels have apps of their own, download the NBC, CBS, and ABC apps. And check the Roku channel for national news.
