Hello Rokus, there’s no real reason to get this other than if your Roku TV is really old and slow or you need the long range WiFi receiver that comes with this device, they both operate on the same OS, both have the ability to download the same apps. This device is for people with not smart TVs or people who have non Roku TVs and want the Roku OS.
