It should. I haven’t done it yet but saw instructions to do so by googling connect roku to surround sound or AVR.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Absolutely, and that is how I have mine setup. My Roku Ultra I have inputted to the "DVD input" of my Sony Home Theater Amp. I have my Blu-Ray Player inputted to the "Blu-Ray input", and I have my Amazon TvStick inputted to the "SAT/CATV input". Then I just select via a selector switch what ever device I plan to use for my tv viewing.

If you don't have enough HDMI inputs on your AV reciever, an alternate option may be to go directly to the TV HDMI input from the ROKU output and use an optical digital audio cable back to your AV reciever/amp if it has a digital optical input. When first setting up my system I experienced a noticible loss in video quality when sending my ROKU and blu-ray HDMI out-puts through the AV reciever, and the audio needed to be resync'ed with the video due to an annoying lag. I solved the problem by going directly to the TV HDMI inputs from the ROKU and blu-ray. Most TVs have two or more HDMI inputs, even on the older 1080p units.
