If you want the sound to go from your Roku Ultra to your AVR to your speakers, you don't need passthrough or the sound going to your TV. Just plug the Roku into your AVR, and connect the AVR's HDMI Out to any of the TV's HDMI inputs that support the video features of your source material -- leaving the audio to be handled by the AVR without going to the TV.

Newer AV receivers have pass through which would allow signal to go to your TV if you wanted to use TV only for sound with your AV receiver off. Hope that helps...

Some popular channels that offer Dolby Atmos for some content titles include Disney+, Vudu, and Netflix. This functionality requires you to have a receiver/soundbar capable of decoding and playing Dolby Atmos.
