Hi! Denny , Sorry to hear your having issues with your Roku Ultra (2020). I know you mentioned your device is up to date ,however you may want to check for an update. To manually check for an update press the Home button on your Roku remote.Scroll up or down and select Settings. Select System and then Select System update.Select Check Now to manually check for updates. If your still having issues with losing audio on your Ultra (2020) you can also perform a factory reset. Please Note before performing a factory reset. The Factory Reset will reset all settings and return your Roku device to a state ready for initial setup. On the back or bottom of each Roku device is a reset button. Once the reset button is located and your Roku device is powered on, press and hold the reset button firmly for about 10 seconds. The indicator light or status LED will blink rapidly on most Roku devices when the factory reset is complete. If after you've taken the trouble shooting steps mentioned and you continue to lose audio while streaming you can reach out to Roku Customer Help for further assistance https://support.roku.com/contactus
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have have had this happen to me, but when the Roku is connected up to my Sony's HDMI inputs. If the remote is on when switching to the Roku content on the Sony remote, I get no sound. The mute switch having nothing to do with it. I have to switch back to a source with sound and then back to the Roku for the sound to work. I have found when switching sources on a receiver with HDMI inputs, to always have the Roku OFF when selecting as a source, and then turning the Roku on. Also, Roku may have a firmware issue concerning feeding Dolby sound to an 7.2 amplifier. The setting on the Roku was to allow the default sound source. But I later discovered that when my replacement Roku was updated with the current firmware / software to fix what I thought was a defective Roku unit, I had the same problem. It was when I selected the Dolby source instead of the default the sound in the Roku audio settings for my Sony to start working correctly, previous the subwoofers acting as if they weren't receiving the audio, the LEDs red not green. I called Sony, to update them that with audio issues with Roku where subwoofer outputs were silent, that the audio settings were suddenly different then recommended and probably because of a firmware update, which had changed the default. Maybe Roku was not even aware. Sony support never dreamed the problem some customers were calling about could be a new firmware update on the Roku that may have been changed the audio setting that had been previously recommended, not longer valid.
