It would appear to be similar to the Hue Wall Switch, but without the need for batteries. You'd be able to turn on or off Hue lights with the press of a wall button instead of using the app. I used a Hue Wall Switch to add basement lights where there was no existing switch wiring. I had a floor lamp plugged in with constant power with a Hue bulb installed. Mounted a switch like this to a nearby wall with double sided tape. Programmed the switch to operate the lamp. I haven't tried this specific model yet, but the other Hue switch would even let you program various settings. Example: One tap for full brightness. 2 taps for 50% brightness, 3 taps for Blue lighting. The option of using kinetic energy for the switch power is intriguing.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Here is how I programmed my four buttons (Master bedroom, two his/her switches affixed to our bed frame) ... (Press & hold any of the buttons - it will dim the lights up or down.) > Top Left button: Master ON (turns on all linked lights to last-remembered dim level and color scheme) > Bottom Left: Master OFF / All linked lights turn OFF (press & hold dims down) > Top Right: Color scheme 1 ON (my own custom colors) > Bottom Right: Color scheme 2 ON (optimized lighting for book reading)
