1. The devices have not been tested for such and it is not recommended to paint an electronic device. 2. The RYSE SmartShade will comfortably lift shades up to 12lbs, or around 10ft x 10ft. 3. Yes, the RYSE SmartShade needs to be mounted on a wall or window frame. The device comes with a mounting kit and easy-to-follow instructions on how to do this in under 10 minutes. 4. The RYSE SmartBridge (add-on device) is required for additional features such Schedules/Routines, Group Control, Remote Access and Voice Control.
