It sounds like the phone is the wrong model for the case.

There are 3 models of the Galaxy S20. Make sure you ordered a case to fit your model

I am using the S20 Ultra 5g and it fits as it should. It is not loose at all on that model. Perhaps not the exact model it was designed for is being used?

The case should fit tightly on the back of the phone.
