Stay away from this product -- go with Panasonic inverter microwave instead. Mine died twice in less than 4 months and of course it was past the 15 day return policy of Best buy too!!!

Both the amount of noise insulation and the pattern the manufacturer has decided to shoot the waves out at can create different levels of noise between different models of the same power level. My brand new one of this particular model doesn't sound any louder than any other microwave I've used, and is actually quieter than some. So if the cooking process seems unusually loud for a microwave, check to see if the turntable is getting caught on something that's making it rattle, check to see if you're trying to cook something that's noisy or inappropriate to subject to high frequency waves, check to see if you've placed the unit in a problem location, and then try calling a repair shop (or try returning it if you can) if you think the problem is with the motor instead.
