It will depend upon the type of microwave you have. The biggest question is: is it a vented microwave? In other words, does the cabinet above the microwave have ducting that goes somewhere? If it is ducted, you will need to have ducting go from the microwave to an outside vent. You may be able to tap into the existing ducting but you would need someone to look and see if that's possible. Some microwaves are non vented. If that's the case, yes, you could move it to a new location to use it. I'm not a professional but my responses have some experience behind them. Go to a big DIY store and they could help you out. Or check the model number of the microwave you have and Google it. Good luck
