“We’ve no ducts going to outdoors. microwave was installed by kitchen remodelers. I guess we are recirculating because no ducts, right? Air currently blows out front top, is that how it should work? How will I know if vent install was done right?”

Yours was installed correctly. Above the range microwaves can do either duct of vents. Big improvement from the old models. Because there was very little paper instructions (in my opinion), you can get the entire users manual online at Sansum.com
