Though we've installed the microwave so that it vents OUTSIDE through the top, air still comes out and recirculates through the front, back into the room. WHY is that? One would think that it should be either/or NOT both. Please advise. null

Hi CE,

I agree with you that when the microwave is configured to vent out, it will not recirculate and vise-versa. We are dishearted to know that the microwave isn't working as intended.

One reason why air still comes out the front if the microwave was configured to vent is with the blower. The blower might be configured for recirculating even if there are vents installed on the microwave to exhaust outside.

Please refer to pages 12 - 14 of the installation guide I have shared below to check if the blower is properly configured to vent outside.

The seal between top of microwave and duct is probably not sealed properly
