The handle does not get hot. I have only had mine for a short period of time, so far no problems with the control panel.....but my control panel seems to stay pretty cool.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have had the microwave for about a month and have not had any issues with the handle or keypad getting hot while cooking on the range. Make sure you follow the recommended distance between the cooktop and the microwave. Also running the exhaust fan should help.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The ME18H704SFS is designed to be mounted under a cabinet that is at least 30" above the cook top, and can tolerate the heat based on the proper installation and clearances. This applies to the handle, as well.
