“Is a water line required for this fridge to work? I don't plan on using the ice maker feature of the fridge.”

Hi There. Glad that you asked if a water line is required without using the ice maker. Your refrigerator still works without the water line installed. Refer to the user manual for the steps to turn on or off the ice maker on page 35: https://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/202206/20220613181444083/DA68-04132A-03_EN_MES_CFR.pdf. It has an icemaker, but we didn't attached. Turn off the icemaker.

No the line is for the ice maker only so it would just be shut off and not used.
