• You can place it anywhere. However, it needs to be plugged into an electrical socket.

• The subwoofer and soundbar are connected wirelessly, so they don't have to be right next to each other. I'm not sure what the range is, but I have mine about 25-30 feet away from each other with very heavy pieces of furniture between them and no complications. The furniture does not seem to 8nterfere with the signal. My apologize for not knowing the exact range. Hope this helps!
