• Did you remove little white plastic off the bulb on each end of cord? It also is hard to push in and only goes in one way.

• Little rubber cap on end of optical cord. Tried both ways hdmi cable was a better deal for me.

• We had the same problem, then finally realized there is a small piece of plastic that needs to be removed from the head on it.

• The optical cord that came with it is weird. It wouldn't fit my tv...not sure about the sound bar itself. I already had an optical cable so I just used that one. I would go to best buy and just buy a solo optical cable.
