“Soundbar hooked up to my Samsung TV with the optical cable. Cable box hooked to TV via HDMI. When I change channels, I lose sound and have to restart TV or cable box. Using other TV inputs as well so don't want to go direct to cabe box. Any ideas why?”

I use an optical cable from the cable box to the sound bar and connect the HDMI from the cable box to my projector and that works great. For my computer, I connect the sound bar to the computer with an HDMI cable and that works great as well.
