• U should I have mine connected to a older Hitachi that had no HDMI hook ups or sound got my firestick playing and sound going when I got this sound bar

• I have a Vizio TV and my soundbar is connected just fine. The soundbar has HDMI in and out, Optical in (Toslink) cable and bluetooth. My vizio did not have bluetooth or Toslink, so I connected the cable box to the soundbar via HDMI then the HDMI out from the soundbar to the TV. But if you have bluetooth or Toslink you'll have more options. Short answer, yes. You can connect other brands of TVs directly to the soundbar or connect your source to the soundbar.
