• No receiver required, connects directly to TV through HDMI (ARC) cable is not supplied; Also connects directly to TV through Optical cable which is supplied or Blue Tooth if TV has Blue Tooth. If your TV doesn't have an HDMI (ARC) output instructions do not address connection to TV through standard HDMI.

• I connected mine with the included digital input wire that was included, no receiver needed.
