“When I connected the monitor to my Dell Laptop via HDMI cable, my laptop audio and audio jack stopped working (no sound). I checked the system sound popup window and found that "application" sound was not running anymore. Can anyone help?”

I’ve had this happen. You have to go into your sound settings and switch it back to your laptop. This monitor doesn’t have speakers

Please try again later.I am no expert but HDMI is video and audio so you will need to tell the laptop to still use the default speakers on the laptop....If you cannot figure that out you may be able to possibly just plug in speakers to the audio jack of the laptop and it may just bypass the HDMI, hope this helps... I am assuming you are looking to dock your laptop and use it like a desktop, I use to do this.
