• If you have clearance to open the freezer side all the way you can. It wasn't super easy to get out and back in, but i pulled and dumped it to get rid of the first batch of ice as suggested by the installers.

• You can remove the ice bin. We did the first couple times it made ice to make sure all funny tasting ice was out and the filter was working.
