“are the display buttons in the door supposed to light up?”

• Hi Michael, The control panel on the RF263BEAESR is not backlit, so the words that are printed in white on the left and right sides of the panel don't light up. However, the temperature digits and other icons on the panel do light up when the buttons are pressed. Thanks for the question, Ms. Samsung

• yes, they light up when used and stay on briefly after use

• The lights are limited. You only see the temp when you touch.

• Yes, the display lights up inside the top of the inner doors on either side. This is so you can set temps for the Fridge & Freezer sections.
