Mike, you should be able to slide the bottom portion up so as to lock it in place before you screw in the top portion to ensure it is not loose.

This fridge is a replacement as the first one had a dent in it but the handles on that one were tight. Same boat here can’t tighten anymore. Hope they come up with a solution.
