• On small TV's( 32inch or smaller) 720p is all you need. HD looks great. And if you watch any old standard definition I think it looks better on the 720p TV's than my big 4K TV

• "720" and "1080" refer to pixels, and a higher number means better resolution and a clearer, sharper picture. With smaller TVs, the difference is hardly discernible to me.
