Yes, you can remove the upper rack.

Please try again later.While both the upper and lower racks in the DMT800 dishwasher can be removed, Samsung does not recommend running a cycle without the upper rack in place, unless the extra "spread nozzle" has been inserted as instructed on page 15 of the user manual. The height of the upper rack can easily be adjusted to accommodate taller plates in the lower rack, as well. If the Half-Load option is selected, dishes should be loaded into the lower rack.
