Hi Daytona, Thanks for your interest. Samsung's Digital Inverter Compressor in the RF28JBEDBSG is designed to run both quietly and efficiently. The motor may be more audible when running at higher RPMs during high demand periods (such as when the doors are opened frequently), but when there's less traffic in the refrigerator and freezer, the compressor doesn't need to work as hard and runs quietly at lower RPMs. To help minimize noise, be sure it's leveled correctly so the doors can seal properly. - Ms. Samsung
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We have one of these fridges and it is very loud when running at higher speeds; it makes a loud tin humming sound we can hear throughout the house especially at night. Samsung tech came out and said it is a normal compressor sound and all of them make this sound so it is going back for an LG. Loved the Fridge but the loud "normal" sound was a deal breaker for us! I searched the internet and noted multiple complaints about how loud the unit is.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine is pretty quite, i have not had noise issues with it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have had my fridge 2 to 3 months now and it no longer makes any noise at all . I dearly love this fridge especially the middle drawer where I can put cans of soda and anything else I care too .
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My unit is very quiet. The dropping of ice can be heard if you are near.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I occasionally here a cube drop other than that there is no noticeable noise. I am not of the bat family though so that might make it quiet for me.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine is much more quiet than it's replacement ( a Jenn Aire & a horrible product). We haven't heard any popping. My only "noise" complaint is with the ice dispenser when on crushed versus cubes.... then it's "getting on my last nerve" noise.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
