This monitor does not have built-in speakers. You must purchase separate speakers to plug into either the monitor itself (through the audio jack) or through your device. The "device" your computer is detecting for audio is the audio port in which you connect either speakers or headphones to.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This monitor does NOT have speakers. Instead, it has an audio out (headphone jack) on the back. So you can plug in headphones or external speakers to play the audio coming into the monitor via the DP or HMDI inputs. Also, my Windows 11 computer detected the monitor as another sound device through which to play audio. Just about all monitor speakers are pretty bad in sound quality. So if you want audio through this monitor, consider investing in good external speakers.
