“Normally, how long does the water filter needs to be changed? I thought it needs to be replaced every 6 months but ours lit up on the 2nd month+ only. We got the fridge on mid Oct and it lit up end of the year. We only use the pitcher inside for drinking.”

Mins lasted 6 months It depends on your water and how much stuff is being filtered out through it We are on county water which is treated and filtered before if gets to us. I used to be on a private well and I have found that I was replacing my water filter much more frequently because there's was a lot of silt and other micro particles you can't see ? My sister in law added a Filtration system to the line going to her faucet in sink and fridge she has a private well. Now she only has to change fridge filter every 6 months.

I use my water from the fridge pitcher in Stews, tea, daily water drinks, etc. even with how much I have used it the filter didn’t go off only around the 3mth mark. Overall i save money by having this pitcher and I feel safe using filtered water instead of my water from my rental sink.

Depending on usage, the filter may need to be replaced sooner or even later than that.
