I assumed you could remove the pitcher and fill other things. It seems to only fill the pitcher when door is closed. Have not figured out how to fill anything else, like a cup. Can't get water to come out when door is open. Looks like this one is going back and getting the one that does not have the pitcher. I thought they functioned the same, but looking closely at the water dispenser on the one without a pitcher it is a little different.

Please try again later.I like to have my water infused with basil and lemon but I also like to have fresh filtered water for my coffee pot so putting the pitcher water infused into my coffee maker is not a good thing. I was hoping you could just put a cup in there and hit the button but nope :(
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No ... however I'm curious as to why you would need a water dispenser? You have a pitcher always full of cold filtered water ! If you need a dispenser to fill your cup ???.........Why not fill your cup with the water from the pitcher ? I LOVE this feature i never want a Dispenser for water or ice on my fridge again ! They eventually start to leak or freeze up because the seals wear out!....This is a good idea........ Thanks SAMSUNG !
