• I am using the monitor just as you describe with my MacBook Pro. I have the monitor, a mixing board and powered speakers on an outlet strip. Once I boot up the mac and turn on the outlet strip the monitor turns on every time on its own.

• Is there an wire command to turn on , and could that come from either HDMI or DP input? Default power settings are nice, but device control is another matter. Maybe USB could carry control signals?
