The water is moderately pre-chilled. It gets cooled somewhat as it flows through the machine into the pitcher. But not as cold as it will as the refrigerator cools it more.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Excellent question, Ross! The refrigerator has an internal water reservoir that will dispense chilled water into the water pitcher. However, if the reservoir has been depleted, it may take some time for the water to be chilled again. ^Jecca
