• Kay, this cord will not work with the Note 5 the Note 5 uses a micro USB charger this cord is a USB-C cord.

• It is my understanding that Type C won't work on Type A but Best Buy and other retailers sell "adapters" to fix that problem.

• No it's the new charger that is designed for type C. It wider than the old note 5 style. If you have the adapter it might work fine, but the more pieces between the phone and outlet, the more chances for slowing it down.
