Yes, the stainless steel is not stainless under the knobs. For me in 8 months time, it has pitted and discolored from heat under normal use- and cannot be cleaned. The material is not stainless steel and is advertised as Stainless cooktop. Samsung warranty will not cover the repair or replacement. Repair for that part (Face plate bezel) is well over $500.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I purchased a Samsung cooktop, and after just three months of use, I noticed unsightly stains around the knob area. When I reached out to Samsung for assistance, they informed me that this issue was considered cosmetic and not covered under warranty. Needless to say, I was quite frustrated. What bothered me most was the fact that the product, despite being labeled as 'stainless steel,' wasn't actually made of stainless steel. This detail was not mentioned in the product description or reflected in the premium price I paid. It felt like a betrayal of trust, especially when I expected quality at this price point. My experience with Samsung's customer service and their product has left me disheartened, and I've heard similar stories from others about their products breaking down. Ever since my experience, I've been cautioning friends and family against purchasing Samsung products. In my opinion, Samsung's practices seem questionable.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.this cooktop is stainless steel no painted surfaces if you use stainless steel cleaner and polish it looks like new if you scrub it with an sos pad or anything course if will look terrible
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yep. The material is not actual Stainless Steel. Not even a year after we purchased our stovetop started to show rust stains (which are bot covered) and now the black portion underneath the knobs started to have a cloudy like stain that won't clean off...and guess what is not covered either. Sadly, Samsung (and their warranty) are not good at all for stovetop or microwa e with exhaust fans.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We have discolorations too! After three weeks, our stainless panel under the knobs on our brand new cooktop had cloudy patches and streaks around the top and bottom edges. This after our five week old Samsung dishwasher stopped working (parts are not available so they must replace the entire unit) and the ice maker on our Samsung Refrig had to be replaced (there was actually a class action lawsuit around this.). DO Not buy Samsung appliances. You will regret it (we do!!!)
