- Answer Yes, the stainless steel is not stainless under the knobs. For me in 8 months time, it has pitted and discolored from heat under normal use- and cannot be cleaned. The material is not stainless steel and is advertised as Stainless cooktop. Samsung warranty will not cover the repair or replacement. Repair for that part (Face plate bezel) is well over $500.

QuestionI am trying to find the distance between each burner to compare to my current 4-burner cooktop. Can someone provide that info or point me in the right direction? I am mainly interested in the distance between the front and rear burners.

- Answer The distance between the two left side rings (center to center) is about 7.5 in. The distance between the a left side ring to the center ring (center to center) is about 9.75 in. Hope this helps.

- Answer Nonsense. This is the best cooktop I have ever used. I use the 22k burner the most, and ALL of the knobs remain cool while using this burner AT FULL BLAST.
