In my experience, the amount of working windows you can open depends on the power of your computer. I run three separate 4k monitors running labor intensive pro software for photo, video and audio editing to name a few. All programs up and processing at the same time along with other sampling and color grading, color calibrating, and color correcting software. I can only do this because my computer is running 24 cores, 48 threads, blah, blah blah and can keep up with the multi-tasking workflow. The last part of the equation is, how many 'working' screens can you watch/track at one time. I may have a lot of screens up but I'm not looking at all them continuously, just the ones that I'm using at the moment. Hope this helps.
