Hello MD26, Yes it can, as long as you have an HDMI port on your laptop or VGA port on your laptop - the monitor came with an HDMI cable.

Yes that is how i connect it, has hdmi connection and i can also use my vga adaptor for my older laptop. The sharp 1080p picture was well worth a few dollars more.

That is what I purchased this for so yes, as long as you have a HDMI connection. But I returned this monitor because it was so poor in visual clarity.
