Connects easily and well with either VGA or HDMI. I just added another laptop via a 8-port KVM switch and the new laptop doesn't have a VGA port and neither does the port-replicator (dock). I was able to buy a cheap ($19) VGA-to-USB-C and it connects and looks great!
