• I had the same concern re sports, but watching ice hockey, I sense no problem whatsoever. And that moves faster.

• In my dealings with the TV I would say yes it is. I've never really noticed any blurring while watching sports.

• This is a comment based upon my Samsung 32" version. I just watched a whole bunch of the NCAA March Madness and it was perfectly acceptable. No ghosting or pixels jaggies to be seen. Your 40" is going to be much larger, so make sure you're not too close to the TV set, or things like that might be more noticeable.

• I would say no it is not. For that you want 120 or ideally 240 hz.
