• Hi Beth, the USA is on a 110v 60hz power standard, where-as most other countries use a 240v 50hz standard. A converter would be needed to power the TV in a country using the 240v system. Also, the USA uses the NTSC and ATSC broadcasting format. Most, but not all, countries use the PAL. TVs purchased in the USA are not compatible with the PAL broadcasting system without a converter.
