It is advertised to work with Alexa. However, you need the SmartThings app in order for Alexa to work. The problem is that the SmartThings app will not turn the TV on. Once it is on, both Alexa & SmartThings work. I was told by both Samsung support & Geek Squad that this is a low level TV & that you need the remote to turn it on. Seems redundant to use remote first then use can use Alexa.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. In order to use your voice to turn on the TV, you must first hardwire the TV to the Internet, Next, you need to have the Smarthings app set up to work with Alexa. Then you need to say the following command to turn on the TV. "Alexa, turn on TV using smart things app."
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I .connected the TV directly to the internet with a cat7 ethernet cable. I still can't use my voice to turn on the TV, but I can turn it on using the Smartthings app.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I spoke with Samsung support and was told that when the TV is powered off, it loses its wireless connection to the Internet. That is the reason that you can't use Alexa to turn the TV on. They said that connecting the TV to the Internet with a wired connection will keep the TV online and "might" allow Alexa to turn the TV on. They didn't say that this will definitely work and I haven't tested this myself yet so I don't know for sure that this would work.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Don't know. I would not own an Alexa since they are to able record ALL your requests and listen in on you.
