Depends on the type of dvd and the options it has. The dvd player should come with cables. You might need A/V older round type with red, white & yellow tips, or a HDMI cable. The TV has both available to plug into.

Depends on your DVD, Yes I have an older DVD that has audio visual wires and I was able to hook it up.
