Hello Bill - The Samsung TVs for the U.S. are manufactured in Mexico, just across the border in Tijuana. The feet are needed to support the TV, unless you are using a mount. ^Cris

I really don’t look at manufacturers all the time but most time they are made in China or Japan. I like the brand and this is not first Samsung TV. All Televisions come with leg for your convience but the legs are not attached when you purchase. I did not attach mine because it’s on the wall. I hope this is helpful.
