Hello, The sandman is new to this product, but as a multimedia specialist I would "assume" the TV can act as a monitor similar to Netflix.....cheers

I do use a direct HDMI cable for more rigorous use where zero latency and sharpest resolution is important. But the projection option allows me to share it betwee multiple computers, which is real handy at times. Maybe there are reasons to use a dedicated monitor for gaming that I don't know about, but for my needs it's perfect. And hey...the TV features are nice to have too. Never know when you might need a backup or want to watch a 3rd game. I have the later 8000 series upstairs. Aside from the remote, not much difference between the two that I have noticed.
