I am not sure if I can quite answer your question but the legs of the stands are removable but CANNOT be shortened.

K2, the width of the 43TU7000 cannot be reduced and the legs cannot be shortened unless you choose to purchase a smaller size TV. You can utilize a wall mount if you desire; any universal wall mount with a VESA Standard of 200mm x 200mm will be compatible with the 43TU7000.
