Jim, you will need WiFi to be able to use the Smart Features of this TV (Built-in apps, streaming services, etc). You can connect wirelessly or with an Ethernet cable. If you want a specific channel or Cable package, you will need to look into Cable/TV Providers. If you want to take advantage of built-in streaming apps (Netflix, Hulu, Sling TV, Prime Video, etc), you will need WiFi to download and stream these apps from your TV's built-in App Store. ^Gina

You can get local channels with the coax input and antenna . Streaming services such as Hulu and Netflix are loaded and Samsung T.V is free. You will need a strong Wifi signal. I use the Eero mesh system.
