It adjusts to the mood of your content and Dual LED backlighting technology adjusts the color tone so you can watch it the way it was meant to be seen. Dual LED lighting also offers better contrast and off angle viewing compared to edge lit technology. The back lights you are able to purchase seperately will give you mood lighting in the room but will not affect the lighting on the TV. ^Cris
