Hi RocHed11! It is recommended to use the included Samsung One Remote for controlling the TV and any additional devices connected to it. With this remote you can control the TV with your voice and have quick access to popular streaming applications and the Smart Hub. If you would like to use a different universal remote, consult the remotes manual for the pairing instructions for Samsung TVs. With a universal remote, you will lose voice control capabilities and quick access to smart applications. ^Tim
