• Hi SnackJack, The TU690T TV does come with a built-in Tuner, but you will need to purchase an external antenna to access local channels. However, Wi-Fi will allow you to connect to Samsung TV Plus, which offers hundreds of free channels. Not to mention the countless Streaming apps available for download. ~Samsung Advisor

• I think it depends upon where you live. Most definitely you would need an antenna, but even then you would most likely get a handful of channels, most of them not in English. If you live close to the signal you could get local stations.
