The salesman’s claim was mostly true. The smart TV allows apps to be placed on the TV itself, eliminating the need for a connected device such as a Roku or Apple TV. Therefore, if the programming you are trying to watch has an app, you access it through the TV instead of the Roku. For example, I have Netflix, Hulu, UFC TV, YouTube, Spectrum cable’s app, and an internet browser all on the TV itself with no secondary device hooked up. It totally eliminates the need for a cable box or Roku.
